Medical School and Beyond!

T Minus 5 Weeks

on July 15, 2013

This past Saturday, the 13th, marked 5 weeks until I get home.  Its not like I am at all excited.  Recently, I have been able to incorporate Disney and Country into medical school.  First I will explain the country connection because in the arm there is a plexus (group) of nerves in the arm known as the brachial plexus that is broken up into Roots, Trunks, Divisions, Cords, and Branches and the way to remember the order is Randy Travis Drinks Cold Beer.  Interestingly, the day I learned this Randy Travis made it into the news with his viral cardiomegaly and then a post operative stroke while in the hospital.

Okay so now for Disney!  As I have posted about before Medical school students tend to make music video parody’s and post them on you tube and one made this one called a Disney Princess Goes to Medical School.

Well back to medical school updates.  I have been feeling real love here with getting many cards and letters from friends and family.  So thank you all so much.

This past weekend has once again been filled with 30 hours of studying for anatomy as today was our 3rd exam.  I feel like it has been the hardest anatomy exam yet and I shall see tomorrow how I did, hopefully I did well.  Tomorrow starts the final stretch for anatomy and month from yesterday is the last day of final exams.

Last week was interesting.  First, on Monday, we were able to feel a 7.1 magnitude earthquake here on the island while the epicenter was farther south.  The quake occurred around 5 am and woke me up and I could see my vitamin bottle shaking on top of my TV.  Then on Tuesday the tropical storm went thru the Sea and we got rain and wind but the eye missed our island.

Hi! Another exciting week. Oh boy 🙂
Glad to hear the quake and storm were nothing serious, classes and studying continue uninterrupted!
After viewing “Disney Princess goes to Medical School” I can see just how many medical parody’s there are. Too funny.
As always, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

  2. Dad says:

Grandma asked if you were scared when you felt the earthquake?
